This week is a very special week in Riviera Maya! No, not because of the COP16 conference, it is the 3rd annual GIVC Awards Ceremony! I cannot tell you how honored I am to be a part of this very special event. arterres.fr,This is something that I have been looking forward to for months. Since I cannot even put into words the fantastic (or “funtastic”) job that the folks here at Karisma do for all of their GIVC agents I plan to take a lot of pictures to share with you all.

Today we arrived to the El Dorado Royale Resort and it has been nothing short of amazing. Our room is absolutely gorgeous – a Jacuzzi Jr.Nike Pas Cher, Suite Swim-up – I cannot wait to get in that pool tomorrow morning to lie in the sun and order room service for breakfast! We have beachfront sky massages scheduled for tomorrow and then we will be off to party the night away at the Maroma Beach Party.

The ART of doing nothing… http://beachbumonabudget.com/516/ Sun, 10 Oct 2010 04:09:30 +0000 http://beachbumonabudget.com/?p=516 I have finally found the mecca for a romantic adults-only vacation.  Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in Riviera Maya, Mexico.  This place is heaven on earth.  My husband and I are taking a 3-night break from the kids and site inspections to enjoy this Amazing property, and I couldn’t imagine a place more enjoyable.

Every day the AM Resorts properties (Zoetry, Secrets, Dreams, and NOW) publish a daily newsletter called the Sundial.  Today in the Sundial this caught my eye and how true it is!

THE ART OF DOING NOTHING

Here doing nothing doesn’t mean loafing away, idly passing time. nike Air max 90 pas cher, Doing nothing means the willingness to switch off from external distractions and worries.  It means being happy to be in our present surroundings and at peace with ourselves.  Real silence is relaxing and reinvigorating.  The art of doing nothing involves gaining an inner preparation, a mental stillness and cultivating an inner peace which gives meaning to our outer life.cheap jordan retro 11,  Meditation is an active cultivation of this inner silence and inner peace.  It is the best way to gain a meaningful inner peace.  Try it!

I read this blerb about 6 times and then I put down my workload for the day and did – well, absolutely nothing.  Coming from me this was not an easy feat.  I usually work 60-80 hours per week and I can never sit still.  I live, eat, and breathe work.  However today and tomorrow I plan to learn the art of doing nothing.  Absolutely nothing!  Well, besides this blog and uploading a few pictures.

You can definitely expect to hear and see more soon about Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita J

Mexico Trip http://beachbumonabudget.com/506/ Sat, 02 Oct 2010 20:24:11 +0000 http://beachbumonabudget.com/?p=506 Tomorrow will be the first day of our 11-night trip and we are all very excited!  There is a total of seven of us going now including my two boys; ages one and three.  I am really looking forward to experiencing the family resorts with them.  When traveling with small children it is so important for them to have activities to keep them occupied and the amenities to handle all of their needs are just as important to me.

We will be spending our first 5-nights at the Azul Beach Hotel by Karisma. trx trainer, I am very much looking forward to this stay.  After all this hotel is designed for families with infants and toddlers.  They have many children’s amenities to offer – of course all included as part of your all-inclusive package.  We have requested a stroller, crib, pack n play, and stepping stool for our kids.  They also offer baby monitors, Gerber baby food, bottle warmers, sterilizers, and more.  I know that our stay is going to be wonderful!

The next 3-nights we will split into two groups.  Part of us will be staying at Dreams Riviera Cancun and the others at Zoetry Paraiso de La Bonita.  Then it will be on to Secrets Silversands while the other group is at Dreams Riviera Cancun for our last 3-nights. cheap trx, I will tell you more about these AMazing properties later.

Don’t forget to follow us and check out our pictures on both Facebook & Twitter 🙂

Finally! http://beachbumonabudget.com/finally/ Sat, 02 Oct 2010 05:11:23 +0000 http://beachbumonabudget.com/?p=499 After much delay, here it is.  Finally!  We have a website that fits our needs.  Of course it will always be a work in progress and we will always be adding content.  I LOVE how our blog is on our front page.  It makes me feel like everything I am going to say is so important.  Well, I guess if anyone is actually reading this anyway?  Anyway – Having the blog on the home page will help make it so easy to follow us while we are on our trips.

The front page blog feature was one of the many wonderful ideas that came from Amy at ebbeka design.  I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are to work with.  Always answering my questions, very friendly, fast, efficient, did I mention FAST?  I could go on all day!  Check them out if you get a chance at www.ebbekadesign.com

Cash in Mexico – New Requirements http://beachbumonabudget.com/hello-world/ Tue, 07 Sep 2010 14:04:17 +0000 http:/?p=1 With the objective of limiting and controlling the movement of American Dollars CASH within Mexico, the Mexican Government recently passed a new law which comes into force across the country on 14th September 2010, making the use of American Dollars CASH to make purchases in Mexico will not be as free as it has been in the past. Many repeat guests to Mexico who have become accustomed to using American Dollars CASH in Mexico as though they were effectively in the United States will notice the difference. Other payment methods such as Credit Cards of all types and all issuing banks, Traveler’s Checks, motorcycle fairings, Mexican Pesos and non-American Dollars foreign currencies in cash (Euros or Canadian Dollars) are not affected in any way by this new law.

The most noticeable differences to travelers will be:

1. Hotels and Exchange Booths will only be able to change a maximum of $1,500 USD CASH per person per month into Mexican Pesos. motorcycle fairings,Previously there was no limit.
2. Businesses (transportation and excursion companies) will only be able to accept a maximum of $100 USD CASH per transaction – but the number of transactions per customer are not restricted.
3. Certain businesses may not be able to, or may choose not to accept American Dollars CASH for any purchase at all (this may include shops etc)

If a customer wants to purchase from an on-site excusrion company (for example) a tour worth $139 US per person, he will only be able to pay $100 USD of this amount in USD CASH and the remainder will need to be in another form of payment (credit card, Mexican Pesos cash, etc).

Appropriate advice would be to inform travelers that they should not carry large amounts of American Dollars cash with them to Mexico, but instead they should consider either using a Credit Card, taking Mexican Pesos cash,
gxsr fairings, taking Traveler’s Checks (of any currency) or withdrawing money locally in Mexican Pesos. Local tipping in small bills is still widely accepted, and Berwick Travel recommends charging any in-resort purchases (gift shop, spa, etc.) to the room, which would then be paid by credit card.
